Department of visual communication
Founded on 1987

The department of visual communication prepares audio-visual media artists. Students acquire knowledge in working with digital technologies, photo and video, web design, prints.

Computer technologies, video and typo-print - are main three goals of the core courses.
The core courses include:
1. Composition. Each terms students are working with different tutor so the exchange of opinions would be more active. Students are working in 2D and 3D compositions and web-compositions.
2. Media composition. Composition where different means should be combined in one result - light, sound, image, movie etc.
3. Work in material. Work with print technologies. For two years students are working with silk screening.
4. Publishing. Introduces students with publishing industry, its′ history. Students are working on different layouts.
5. web-design;
6. video - filming, montage, recording;
7. Photo. Working in photo studio;
8. 2D computer studies.
9. 3D computer studies. Animation and spatial composition in computer graphics.

The Laboratory of Digital Technologies is working within the Faculty offering to acquire - animation, cinematography, photo etc. choice courses for all the students of the Academy. The Laboratory is organizing guest lectures as well.

During the study process students are participating in different art shows and exhibitions. The faculty is organizing regular tours to international art events e.g. the Venice biennale, Dokumenta etc.
