S96 – Central Baltic Fashion Seed (CBFSeed) of the Seed Money Facility of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR Seed Money Facility) (0 komentāri)
Central Baltic Fashion Seed is a new collaboration project of Aalto University, Art Academy of Latvia and Tallinn Incubator. It aims to explore the possibilities of sustainable fashion business in the Baltic Sea region, and prepare further project application(s) for EU funding programmes. The project is part-financed by the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) Seed Money Facility, and it runs from April 2016 to March 2017.
The main project that would result from the Seed project would aim at combining the knowledge of the Finnish and Swedish fashion industry about sustainable fashion design with the Estonian and Latvian emerging fashion industry. While the Estonian and Latvian fashion designers lack business skills and knowledge on access to Nordic markets, the Finnish and Swedish designers need to gain more knowledge about challenges inherent in introducing sustainable fashion practices.
The objective would be to create a Central Baltic sustainable fashion cluster and a programme bringing together and enhancing the exchange of knowledge of young and established fashion businesses, technologists and financiers. The project can built on an existing network from previous projects (e.g. Baltic Fashion). As a result of the main project, new transnational companies would be established. In addition, the project would aim at raising global awareness and interest in sustainable fashion and conducting a pilot collaboration with companies of the Chinese fashion industry.
