|  Students of the Art Academy of Latvia return from SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow with Awards
The 8th edition of “Saloni WorldWide Moscow” took place in Moscow (Russia) from 10 until 13 October 2012 and featured also the “SaloneSatellite” exhibit, which showcases the best young creative talent. For students of the Art Academy of Latvia participation in the exhibition was especially successful, as they returned home with two top prizes. |

| | The 1st prize was awarded to Ligita Breģe, Master’s student at the Academy’s Department of Environmental Art” and 3rd prize went to Rodions Zeņevičs, Master’s student at the Department of Functional Design. Both designers received recognition for their Bachelor’s diploma works (supervisor of Ligita Breģe’s work – docent Juris Krūmiņš, of Rodions Zeņevičs’ work – Deputy Head of the Department of Design, lecturer Ervīns Pastors).
The „Saloni WorldWide Moscow” this year attracted 516 exhibitors, Italian and foreign, which in terms of exhibition space is by 35% more than in 2011, making the „Saloni WorldWide Moscow” a benchmark for interior concepts. The advertising slogan for this 8th edition, “the best that design has to offer”, refers to the superlative quality of the goods on offer – from trend-setting pieces to modern designs to classic furniture – and to the array of displayed products, also remarkably wide-ranging - from furnishings to upholstereds, lighting appliances, kitchens, office furniture, accessories, bathroom furnishings, textiles, coverings, furnishing components and product accessories.
