Aleksejs Naumovs' and Kristaps Zariņš' Exhibition "World Cities" in Polotsk
The Art Academy of Latvia (AAL) Rector Aleksejs Naumovs' and Vice-rector Kristaps Zariņš' exhibition "World Cities" will be opened on 8th of January, 2016 at the Art Gallery of Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, Belarus. The organization of the exhibition is supported by Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Belarus, Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk, Art Gallery of Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, and Vitebsk State University.
The exhibition "World Cities" is a part of art project "World Cities. Live Paintings" which is organized by the AAL.
The works exhibited reflect the impressions which have been gained at the world metropoles and culturally rich European cities. The art project "World Cities. Live Painting" has been carried out in many countries and places – Delhi, Washington, D.C., Miami, Hong Kong , Abu Dhabi, New York, Paris, Venice, Burano, Budapest, Vienna, as well as Riga, Kuldiga and elsewhere. Last year the exhibition was showcased in Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk.
The exhibition is constantly supplemented by painting new cities and sites. This time in Polotsk new paintings will be made and included in further exhibitions.
The exhibition is curated by Mihas Tsybulsky (Vitebsk State University).
