Curatorial studies are a specialization of the master's program in the sub-branch of Art History and Theory, which was opened in 2018. This specialization has been created with the aim to diversify the theoretical and practical study formats symbiosis and to provide high-quality study content filled with critical theories. During the three semesters, students gain knowledge that develops critical thinking, experimental creative practices, and empathic forms of collaboration to become knowledgeable mediators in the arts environment.
The methodological format of the specialization includes the interdependence of theoretical research with the implementation of creative practical projects, combining it with artistic research. Students are motivated for procedural creative research, which results in a diploma thesis - a curated creative project. In order to promote the understanding of the field and the importance of the role of the curator in the art ecosystem, the creators of the specialization provide students every semester with participation in projects of various scales and promote the realization of individual creative activity.
