ERASMUS+ STUDIES

Erasmus+ program provides students with the opportunity to gain international study experience at the Academy's partner universities located in one of the member or partner states of the Erasmus+ program. Students have the opportunity to receive Erasmus+ study grant through competition and spend an officially recognized study period at a foreign university without paying tuition fees.

Once a year in February, International Relations department announces an Erasmus+ program study grant competition for the mobility period of the next academic year at the Academy's partner universities, based on the regulations of the Erasmus+ grant competition.

MEMBER STATES OF ERASMUS+ PROGRAM

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey.

Partner states: Great Britain, Switzerland.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The Erasmus+ study program can be used at all study levels: 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th year (planning to enroll in the LMA Master program) students of the Bachelor program, 1^st and 2^nd year (planning to enrol in the LMA Doctoral program) students of the Master program, and 1^st and 2^nd year students of the Doctoral program can apply for the Erasmus+ study scholarship competition. Prospective students of the 4^th year of the Bachelor's program, 2^nd year of the Master's program and 3^rd year of the Doctoral program may apply for the Autumn semester exchange studies only – study period during the semester before the graduation is not allowed.

The minimum study mobility period is 2 months, the maximum is 12 months within one study level (Bachelor, Master or Doctoral level).

Students who have already used study or traineeship mobility before and received an Erasmus+ or Lifelong Learning Program Erasmus grant may also participate in the grant competition, but the total duration of mobility at one study level may not exceed 12 months.

GRANT

Grant rates in the Erasmus+ program are determined by the State Education Development Agency (in Latvia - VIAA). The grant is intended to help cover travel, accommodation and other costs associated with the study period abroad, but does not guarantee that all the expenses will be covered.

An additional supplement to the grant is intended for participants with limited options, also if getting to the place of mobility by choosing a green mode of travel – by train, bus, personal car.

Zero grant option is also availabe - student is allowed to use all the same Erasmus+ program’s benefits with the same conditions, only without the grant.

RECOGNITION OF STUDY PERIOD ABROAD

The study period abroad is evaluated in ECTS credits. ECTS or the European Credit Transfer System, helps to get an overview of higher education, compare it and recognize study results and ensure quality. Successful completion of the study period abroad presupposes that the Erasmus+ study period is recognized, evaluated with the number of credit points and counted in the Academy's study period and the student's progress.  Student must complete 30 ECTS per semester or 60 ECTS per full study year.

APPLICATION

Application When preparing the application, please take into consideration the application preparation guidelines.

Application documents must be sent electronically by the deadline.

Application should include:

• Application form of Erasmus+ study competition

• CV (in English)

• Motivation letter (in English)

• Portfolio (up to 10 MB with annotations in English)

• Proof of foreign language (copy of language course certificate, copy of centralized language exam certificate, copy of transcript of records with a mark in a foreign language, etc.)

INFORMATION FOR APPROVED STUDENTS

Erasmus+ study mobility is organized in accordance with the Erasmus student charter.

SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION TO THE PARTNER UNIVERSITY:

• The coordinator of the LMA International Relations department contacts the coordinator of the partner university and sends an e-mail nomination of the student for Erasmus+ exchange studies at the partner university.

• You will be informed by e-mail about the preparation and the deadline of the application to submit at the partner university, and you should prepare the necessary documents on time.

• Together with the coordinator of the LMA International Relations department review the prepared application and send it to the partner school on time. You must send by yourself the online or e-mail application, but if the documents must be sent by post, the sending is carried out and the expenses are covered by the LMA International Relations department.

• The answer form the partner university can take up to one month. In case you won’t be approved by the partner university, LMA International Relations department will help to find another alternative for exchange studies, taking into account the application conditions and deadlines.

AFTER RECEIVING AN APPROVAL FROM THE PARTNER UNIVERSITY:

• The Learning Agreement for studies must be concluded online, using the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) platform, specifying the chosen study program and the number of credit points. At the partner university you can choose a study program that corresponds to your study specification and level: 30 ECTS per semester or  60 ECTS per study year.

• The grant agreement must be concluded regarding the Erasmus+ grant and mobility regulations; you must familiarize yourself with the annexes of the agreement: Annex II - General Conditions, Annex III - Erasmus+ Student Charter.

• You must apply for European Health Insurance Card (in Latvia – EVAK) and arrange the mandatory insurance.

• You must register yourself to take the online language assessment test, after receiving the invitation by e-mail. Online Linguistic Support (OLS) is a free online language learning program designed for Erasmus+ mobility participants, in which the student tests the level of proficiency in the language that will be used abroad, and also offers the opportunity to take foreign language courses for free.

DURING THE STUDY MOBILITY:

• Letter of Confirmation must be signed by the Erasmus+ coordinator on the arrival at the partner university, which confirms that the study mobility period has started.

• You must comply with the terms of the concluded Erasmus+ grant agreement, spend a full study period at the partner university, attend lectures/workshops and pass the necessary exams, assessments or other tests, and follow the rules and regulations established by the partner university.

• In case of any questions or uncertainties, the LMA International Relations department should be contacted, as well any changes in the Learning Agreement should be coordinated with the LMA and the partner university.

• At the end of the study mobility period Transcript of Records should be received from the partner university, which shows the results and the ECTS credits obtained, as well as fully filled and signed Letter of Confirmation.

AFTER RETURNING FROM THE PARTNER UNIVERSITY:

• Within the term specified in the grant agreement, you must submit Letter of Confirmation and Transcript of Records  to the LMA International Relations department.

• If you have acquired more than 30 ECTS per semester or 60 ECTS per year during your Erasmus+ study mobility, the Bachelor’s Study department or the Master’s Study department makes a decision on including the exceeded credit points in the student's progress.

• If during studies at the partner university you haven’t obtained the required number of credit points, upon returning from studies abroad, you must pass additional subject(s) upon prior agreement with the head of the specialization department, the Bachelor’s Study department or the Master’s Study department.

• After receiving the invitation by e-mail, you must submit the online Erasmus+ participant report.

• Based on the form provided by LMA International Realtions department, you must send a written report of the mobility experience with 3-5 attached photos from the mobility period.

Erasmus+ studiju mobilitāte tiek organizēta saskaņā ar Erasmus studenta hartu.

Pieteikuma iesniegšana partneraugstskolā:

• LMA Ārlietu daļas koordinators sazinās ar partnerskolas koordinatoru un nosūta nomināciju jeb izvirza studenta kandidatūru Erasmus+ studijām partnerskolā.

• Students tiek informēts par pieteikuma sagatavošanu un iesniegšanas termiņu partnerskolā un laicīgi sagatavo nepieciešamos dokumentus.

• Students pārskata sagatavoto pieteikumu un laicīgi nosūta partnerskolai (online vai e-pasta pieteikumu sūta students; ja dokumenti jāsūta pa pastu, sūtīšanu veic un izdevumus sedz LMA Ārlietu daļa).

• Gadījumā, ja partnerskola studentu neapstiprina, LMA Ārlietu daļa palīdz atrast citu alternatīvu apmaiņas studijām, ņemot vērā pieteikšanās nosacījumus un termiņus.

Pēc apstiprinājuma saņemšanas no partneraugstskolas:

• Jānoslēdz trīspusējs  studiju līgums izmantojot (OLA) elektronisko reģistrācijas vietni, norādot izvēlēto studiju programmu un kredītpunktu skaitu. Partnerskolā students izvēlas studiju programmu, kas atbilst pašreizējam studiju virzienam un līmenim: 30 ECTS apjomā vienā semestrī vai 60 ECTS pilnā studiju gadā. Iegūstamo ECTS skaits apakšnozarēs var atšķirties.

• Jānoslēdz finansējuma līgums par piešķirto Erasmus+ stipendiju un mobilitātes noteikumiem; jāiepazīstas ar līguma pielikumiem: II Pielikums - Vispārīgie noteikumi, III Pielikums - Erasmus+ studenta harta.

• Jāpiesakās un jāizņem Eiropas Veselības apdrošināšanas karte EVAK un jāveic obligātā apdrošināšana.

• Studentam  Erasmus+ studiju laikā ir iespēja izmantot Online Linguistic Support (OLS). OLS ir bezmaksas valodas mācību programma tiešsaistē, kas izstrādāta Erasmus+ mobilitātes dalībniekiem un kurā students sākumā pārbauda savu valodas prasmes līmeni un pēc tam iegūst piekļuvi svešvalodas apguves kursu programmai.

Studiju mobilitātes laikā:

• Pie partnerskolas Erasmus+ koordinatora jāparaksta apstiprinājums Letter of Confirmation, kas apliecina, ka uzsākts studiju mobilitātes periods.

• Studentam jāievēro noslēgtā Erasmus+ finansējuma līguma noteikumi, jāpavada partnerskolā pilns studiju periods, jāapmeklē lekcijas/darbnīcas un jānokārto nepieciešamie eksāmeni, skates un citi pārbaudījumi, un jāievēro partnerskolā noteiktā kārtība un noteikumi.
• Jebkādu neskaidrību vai problēmu gadījumā jāsazinās ar LMA Ārlietu daļu, un jebkuras izmaiņas trīspusējā studiju līgumā rakstiski jāsaskaņo ar LMA un partneraugstskolu.
• Studiju mobilitātes perioda beigās no partneraugstskolas jāsaņem sekmju izraksts (Transcript of Records), kurā uzrādīti sekmju rezultāti un iegūtie ECTS kredītpunkti, kā arī pilnībā aizpildīts un parakstīts apstiprinājums (Letter of Confirmation).

Pēc atgriešanās no partneraugstskolas:

• Finansējuma līgumā noteiktajā termiņā students Ārlietu daļā iesniedz Erasmus+ mobilitātes apstiprinājumu no partnerskolas (Letter of Confirmation), kā arī sekmju izrakstu (Transcript of Records).
• Ja students Erasmus+ studiju mobilitātes laikā ir ieguvis vairāk nekā 30 ECTS semestrī vai 60 ECTS gadā, LMA Studiju daļa vai Maģistrantūra pieņem lēmumu par pārsniegto kredītpunktu iekļaušanu studenta sekmēs.
• Ja studijās partnerskolā students nav ieguvis nepieciešamo kredītpunktu skaitu, atgriežoties no studijām partnerskolā, studentam jānokārto papildus priekšmets(i), iepriekš vienojoties ar katedras vadītāju un LMA Studiju daļu vai Maģistrantūru.
• Pēc uzaicinājuma saņemšanas e-pastā, students aizpilda elektronisko Erasmus+ mobilitātes atskaiti Erasmus+ participant report.
• Students iesūta mobilitātes pieredzes stāstu ar 3-5 pievienotām foto no mobilitātes perioda. Pieredzes stāsts jāveido, balstoties uz pieredzes stāsta formu.
