Dina Suhanova

LMDA researcher

Dina Suhanova is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Design and Architecture at the Art Academy of Latvia. Dina holds a Diploma in Architecture and a Master of Arts in History and Theory of Art and Culture. In addition to several years of architectural practice, Dina has turned her interests on processes, research and activities related to contemporary architectural culture. In 2019 Dina was a co-curator of the international conference "Architecture of Migration" organized by the Latvian Association of Architects as part of the Union of International Architects forum in Riga. Dina also has been the editor of numerous academic publications and is a frequent contributor with writings and publications to local and international journals. In 2023, she guest-edited the 164th issue of the magazine "Latvijas Architektūra".
In recent years Dina works as a curator, researcher, leader of the various interdisciplinary projects and summer schools, and as an expert in the field of architecture. Dina is one of the lecturers and course authors of the Professional Master's Programme "Architecture" being prepared by the AAL. From 2022 to 2024, Dina takes part in the Latvian Science Council's State Research Program "Letonics for the Development of Latvian and European Society" project "Landscapes of Identities: History, Culture and Environment" (VPP-LETONIKA-2021/1-0008) and other research activities within the institute.
