NORDIC & BALTIC YOUNG ARTIST AWARD´22

The Nordic & Baltic Young Artist Award aims to support young talents at the beginning of their careers as professional artists and to offer both art enhusiasts and art professionals better access to discover young artists. The competition gathers the best works of BA and MA graduates of 5 art academies (Estonian Academy of Arts, Pallas University of Applied Sciences, Art Academy of Latvia, Vilnius Academy of Arts and Finland, Uniarts) to the online platform NOBA.ac/award, promotes the graduation shows and brings international attention to the graduating students, who are facing the hardest moment in starting their careers. 

How to participate?

Submit a photo of your graduation project and additional information via an online form "AWARD SUBMISSION

Deadline: 31. August 2022 

With participation you will receive: 

- Possibility to be spotted among international contemporary art curators 

- Option to be part of the Baltic and Nordic art community

- Possibility to create an artist profile on the biggest contemporary art platform in the Nordic Baltic region NOBA.ac

- Visibility among the larger public through Public award experience 

Jury 2022:
Sarah Lookofsky (NOR), Frans Jacobi (NOR), Per Nilsson (SWE), Fríða Björk Ingvarsdóttir (ISL), Taina Erävaara (FIN), Dr. Vesa Taatila (FIN), Simon Rees, Anne Klontz (SWE), Andris Vītoliņš (LV) Pire Sova (EST) Ieva Skauronė (LT), Harri Monni (FIN), Andra Orn (EST).

Awards:
The winner of the competition's Grand Prix is selected by the international jury and is targeted to selected graduates from each academy. The winner is awarded a monetary prize of 2000 €, in addition, the jury will hand out Painters Prize Award with a monetary prize of 1000€. 

The Public Choice awards is a category of Nordic & Baltic Young Artist Award competition which is open to all the graduates of participating art academies. Everyone taking part in the Open Call has the opportunity to be awarded a Public Choice monetary prize 500 €, which is handed out based on the public voting on NOBA.ac art platform. The voting takes place in November 2022.

Fotografiska acknowledgement is handed about by Fotografiska Tallinn. The selected artist is invited to host a personal exhibition a Fotografiska Tallinn.

The award winners will be announced at the end of December 2022.
